Today, more and more patients are seeking dental treatment to soften the effects of aging by creating a more youthful smile. They also often have a heightened level of perception with regards to smile esthetics. This is likely a product of society’s emphasis on television, movies, and perhaps most importantly, social media. Patients today appear to be more aware of specific anterior esthetic dilemmas such as, midline deviations, “gummy smiles”, and crown shape discrepancies.
