Managing Overbite & Overjet Discrepancies

Updated: Mar 22, 2023

Achieving esthetic excellence as well as functional stability for patients with inappropriate overbite/overjet is a common, yet challenging, task that dentists face every day in practice. Anterior teeth often have significant wear due to their malposition and/or functional pathway. In many cases, it is impossible for a dentist to restore these teeth unless orthodontics is performed first. - Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the relationship between functional pathways, overbite, and tooth wear

  • Diagnose and treatment plan patients with pathway wear
